In August and September 2025, we asked residents from Gleadless Valley to capture the character, beauty and imagination of life in the Valley under the themes of:

Landscape - Architecture - Life - Dreams.

“Valley and I created great memories through my childhood, this is not just where I lived it’s where I learned, laughed, cried and built long term friendships.

The community on Gleadless has always stood out to me and the people that served in the community from the local shops like Mick and Jenny’s or the Hartleys on the Gaunt to the local pubs that bring friends together such as the Water tower formally known as the New Inn and the Nail makers. All of these places and many more brought a sense of belonging and really symbolises who we are on S14.

I hope my pictures reflect the appreciation of the area I grew up and still live in. I look forward to showing the the place me and my family call home!”
